Living In A Managed Apartment Compl...

If you have ever bought a home, or even tried to buy a home, you know just what a stressful ordeal it is.  Lenders generally take until the very last moment to let you know for sure whether or not your funding will go through and coming up with the extra money for the new expenses that seem to pop up everyday isn’t the easiest thing in the world.  So, if you are considering buying a house, consider renting an apartment instead.

Inviting Atmosphere

From the moment you walk onto an apartment property, the management company is already welcoming you.  Whether they are attracting new tenants with a gorgeous garden setting near the front office or they are offering a move in special that just can’t be passed up, property managers do what they can to make their properties as inviting as possible.  For many people, it is this atmosphere that helps them decide to move into an apartment but for others, it is the fact that apartment living is just less stressful.

Apartment Manager To The Rescue

One of the huge advantages of an apartment over buying a house is that if something breaks or goes wrong through normal wear and tear, the property manager is there to fix it.  For instance, if you live in one of the apartments in Greenville, NC, and have a pipe that bursts, Pitt Property Management is likely your property manager and a quick call will have someone over to fix that pipe at no cost to you.  If you were living in your own home and this happened, you would be out quite a bit to get it fixed.

Property managers do all that they can to make living in an apartment as pleasant an experience as possible.  They make sure that the repairs are completed, the grounds are well maintained, even that the pool is kept clean.  Really, when it comes down to it, apartment managers are there to make your life as stress free as possible.  This alone is reason enough to choose renting an apartment over buying a house.

Cheer Bows Are Great For North Caro...

Are you sending your child to cheerleading camp for the first time?  If so, you probably have plenty of questions about how to prepare your child for the trip.  You will be asking yourself about the best way for your child to avoid injury, whether or not your child is emotionally prepared for the trip, even what type of clothes to pack.

Well, don’t feel that you are alone!  There are plenty of parents out there that are experiencing this for the first time, just like you.  The best thing to do is keep calm and prepare the best that you can.

Is Your Child Mature Enough?

Leaving home for the first time can be a really tough experience for a child who is not emotionally ready for it.  The feelings of homesickness and sadness can be crushing and for some, it is enough to make them call home and cry “uncle”.  As a parent, you know your child and should be aware of the emotional state of your child.

Beyond just the homesickness, a child who isn’t mature enough for this type of trip may not be getting as much out of it as you would hope or worse, keeping others from getting the full benefit.  If your child isn’t mature enough, you really should wait another year or two before sending them.

Dressing for the Occasion

Cheerleading camp is much more than a bunch of young people running around in their cheer uniforms, dancing and singing.  It is a lot of hard work and exercise.  So, not only do you want to make sure that your child has their cheer uniform, you want to make sure that they have plenty of clothes that are perfect for exercising, especially considering the heat and humidity that North Carolina boasts.  A great accessory to stick in your child’s bag is a cheer bow, especially if it is one of those custom cheer bows.  Not only will it keep your child a bit cooler, they will look cooler.

Hair bows are a great accessory for cheer camp in North Carolina but this is just one of the accessories that you will want to pack for your child.  It is important to talk to the people that run the site for tips and suggestions so that your child isn’t the odd man out.  Your child will love cheer camp and so will you.

Starting A Non Profit In Charlotte...

You might not think that it was a big deal if someone handed you a box of uncooked pasta and a can of ready-made chili – both costing one dollar each.  That is of course unless you haven’t eaten in two days. Sometimes, even in beautiful downtown Charlotte, it’s the little things that can mean a lot… Particularly when it’s the little things that are missing in your life.  Little things are just a little different to everyone. You spending two dollars on those two food items… a very little thing.  But someone who’s living under a bridge and considers their brand-new free cardboard box a great real estate deal might think otherwise.

Though Sometimes Thankless, Always Rewarding

Unless you are working for a paid salary at a nonprofit agency, you probably already know that starting and running a nonprofit organization can be a thankless job on occasion.  There will be times that you have to remember all of the faceless individuals you may be helping in order to want to stick it out for another day.  Taking something that is near and dear to your heart is important.  Food isn’t the only thing that there is a need for in this world: nonprofit organizations can work toward saving the fine arts, education, saving the planet, improving the atmosphere, rescuing animals, maintaining sea life and so much more.  And until there are no more natural disasters there will always be some research in the region that has just experienced an earthquake, tornado, tsunami, a volcanic corruption… You name it.

This Man Sets The Bar High When It Comes To Non Profit

Yank Barry is known less for his historic rendition of “Louie Louie” back in the late 1960’s even these days.  So what’s he been doing?  Only getting nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize!  How did that happen, you may ask.  Try this on for size: India Humanitarian Service Award, Juarez Mexico Hands of Love and Hope Award, Gusi Peace Prize for Social Services, Red Cross Humanitarian Award and Philanthropist of the Year at the GLA 2011 Awards.

Working with the likes of Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield, Manny Pacquiáo (are you sensing a trend here or is it me) people have promoted Yank Barry to the title of ‘world renowned philanthropist’.

After A Home Improvement Will You H...

Experts will have us believe that the real estate market has already begun its upward turn.  Be that as it may it’s still a buyers market.  Though with the rest of the economy in the shape that it’s in, who can afford to buy a new house?  That’s why many families have decided to improve upon what they already have. So you scrimp and you save, then you look at pictures and brochures… And more pictures.  You finally decide on what improvements you are going to make and how you’re going to make them.  Whether you contract it out or do it yourself the day finally comes, when you have, for all intents and purposes, a new home.

So Now What?

Well for one thing, if you’ve got kids you have hopefully waited until they’re old enough to make less messes around the house than they did as little children.  And if you’ve got pets, hopefully they’re at an age where they know where they’re supposed to do their business and where they are not.  And of course, if you are a smoker you will either probably be quitting or stepping outside to smoke.  We all know how smoke gets into the curtains, drapes, upholstery, carpeting and even puts a messy film on walls, ceilings, windows and mirrors.  Okay, so you’ve got that taken care of, but what’s going to happen when you have guests over who smoke?

Yes, You’re My Best Friend And I Love You But…

If you’re going to kick your guests out of the house, in order for them to enjoy a smoke… in the middle of winter when temperatures can dip below zero in many regions, will you really make your guests stand outside to have their cigarettes?  If you have an enclosed back porch you could always close the door, between the porch and the house and partially open a window for venting.  And, a little space heater in the porch could make it a little toastier for them as well.  Of course if one of your guests shows up with an electronic cigarette, you won’t have the excuse of secondhand smoke to use in order to get them out of the house.  In fact, you yourself might want to consider switching to electronic cigarettes so that you won’t have to stand outside your own home just to enjoy a smoky treat.

In case you’re Rip van Winkle and you’ve been asleep for the last 20 years, electronic cigarettes produce nothing more than flavored water vapor.  Smokers can enjoy the actions, the taste and the sensation of smoking a real cigarette but with no cancer-causing agents or smelly butts and messy ashes.  These little beauties are even available with several different sized doses of nicotine.

Are Your Credit Card Contracts Lega...

Like most people, chances are that you have a few credit cards in your wallet.  Some keep them for emergencies only, while others use them on a daily basis, as a part of their everyday lives.  No matter why you have a card, you were required to fill out a few documents, before you were able to make that first purchase on credit.  Well, again, if you are like most people, chances are that you didn’t read your credit application in its entirety before signing you agreement.  While this is a bit of the mentality that we have today, the fact is that there are plenty of pitfalls just waiting, in a credit application, some of which may not even be legal.

Society of Signers

When it comes to reading contracts, not many people can claim that they love to do it.  In fact, most people go out of their way to avoid reading the pages of tiny print and legalese, instead choosing to just sign and hope.  Obviously, this is a dangerous practice that we have all become accustomed, however, it only takes being bitten once to be much more cautious, in the future.  In some unfortunate cases, though, all it takes is once to leave you in a place that you never wanted to be.  This casual approach to the way that we sign documents has given companies the means to sneak in language and terms that we never would have agreed to.  For instance, many borrowers are paying for PPI and have been for years, but never agreed to it or even knew it existed.  You need to be sure you know what you are signing, before you just sign away your rights.

Second Pair of Eyes

If you want to make sure that your understanding of the documents that are in front of you are exactly what you think they are, you should take the contract or application to someone for review.  Obviously, the person you take it to will need to have a deep understanding of the legalese contained in the documents, and a firm grasp of the implications of the document.  An attorney is always a great place to start.  This may cost some money, but it may also be the one thing that saves you from signing a document that may not even be legal.

Generally, people only look for loopholes in their contracts and applications, when they are trying to get out of them.  By then, however, it is often too late.  Before you even consider signing, make sure you know exactly what you are signing.  Otherwise, you may find yourself in trouble and without a way to get out of it.

Enjoying A Hike At Home And In Alas...

Unless you live in the middle of the desert, there is most likely a quaint little spot to go hiking, in or very near the area in which you live.  If of course, you live in Alaska, a glacial, beachfront or forest hike, in winter like conditions, is probably the furthest thing from your mind.  On the other hand, if you are a huge hiker and/or camper, you are probably exceedingly familiar with the forested areas and beaches of Alaska.

For Those Not Familiar with Everything Alaska Has To Offer

Hiking and camping frequently go hand in hand.  And, nothing says camping in Alaska like the beachside campgrounds found at Eagle Beach, Clam Gulch, Monashka Bay Beach, Buskin Beach, Home Spit Beach and Deep Creek Beach, just to name a few.  What these campground beaches typically have to offer is the following:  hiking trails, fishing, camping and beachcombing.  They have a boat launch, hiking trails, picnic sites and available water and toilets for the campers.  You can bring your RVs up to 35 feet, pay $10 for a campsite, enjoy 590 acres of Alaska and stay for a limit of seven days.  Of course, if camping isn’t your deal you can always hop in a car, jump a plane or take ferries, jet boats, helicopters, dog sleds and float planes to the best possible location, for your Alaskan Wild Kingdom safari.

What a Great Photo Op

Your Safari will be memorable enough, but you’ll want to take your camera with you anyways.  Imagine the stories you can tell about how Mom kept futzing and putzing with the camera, while Dad stood pointing to the mountain goats, bald eagles, sea lions polar bears, black bears, brown bears or a giant, towering, antlered, snorting, angry moose as it grew closer and closer, finally breathing down his neck. Okay honey I’ve got it… Say cheese.  Honey?  Where’d you go?  God love wilderness vacations.  If fishing is more your style, you are in for a treat.  There is nothing quite like the fun and adventure of Alaska fishing trips.  Not to mention the culinary delights that come as a result.  Alaskan salmon is of course one, but there is also Alaskan King crab and Snow crab added to the menu of seafood cuisine native to the icy waters off the Alaskan coast.  The fish just doesn’t get any fresher than that.

Remember too that the hiking clothing and equipment where you live and the hiking clothing and equipment in Alaska are probably a world apart.  Just a little tip for when you’re packing.
