Lawn pests affect lawns around the world all year long. It doesn’t matter if you have a freshly installed sod lawn or an old Bermuda grass lawn that you’ve had for years, you will deal with lawn pests but thankfully there are many easy ways for pest control.
Gophers
This annoying pest typically will leave small mounds of dirt all around your lawn. Gophers have been known to avoid lawns that have been sprinkled with human hair but if you can’t get bags of hair from your local barber, you can repel them by pouring castor oil down their holes.
Grubs
Almost every lawn around the world has to deal with grubs at one time or another. The best way to eliminate this annoying pest is to spray your yard with soapy water.
Cats
Every neighborhood in the world has a cat that likes to go from house to house. Sometimes cats will create holes in a nicely manicured lawn and this can be very annoying for any gardener. To repeal cats naturally, all you have to do is to spread orange peels, coffee grounds or blood meal around the outer edges of your grass. This will create a barrier and keep cats from wanting to go on your lawn and tear it up.
Worms
Sooner than later you will notice the telltale signs of worms infesting your yard. They will leave behind worm holes and this can mess up the look of any lawn. Getting rid of worms is easy; all you have to do is sprinkle flour over your yard early in the morning when the worms are out. They will eat the flour, bloat then die. You can also repeal worms by planting vegetation around your yard that will encourage predatory insects like wasps and yellow jackets because, these insects feed on worms.
