My husband and I are thinking about purchasing a home in the NW area-8-3 in Charlotte. I have been reading reviews about the schools there and I am not liking what I am reading. What area is considered the north or University area? Does anyone know about the NW area? Thanks.

If i were you, i would seriously thing about the surrounding cities such as Concord/Kannapolis, Hunterville, Davidson, Denver, Gastonia, North Carolina and Fort Mills/Rock Hill to live in.
The crime rate and education in all of Mecklenburg county is bad to terrible. You will live close enough to take advantage of the good parts of being in Charlotte but without being subjected to the terrible parts.
